We actually like Zantanna -- she seems like a very interesting character but we often find ourselves asking simular things.

I think the problem with Zee is that her powers were always (except for a brief period in the early 80s) vague and limitless. Similar to Johnny Thunder and his all-powerful Thunderbolt, the character has to be a moron intellectually or the story would wrap up too quickly.

That is definitely the problem.
... Then again the same can be said for a character like Scarlet Witch and her probability altering powers which pretty much entail everything.
