The Castro Street Fair, founded in 1974 by Harvey Milk, takes place annually on the first Sunday of October on Castro Street between Market and 19th. The day-long event celebrates the residents, artists, businesses, and community organizations of San Francisco's queerest neighborhood. Funds raised by the fair go toward charities important to the local community. For more information, please visit www.castrostreetfair.org.
