WonderCon 2010: Wuvable Oaf at Prism Comics
by Ed Luce [Print-ready Version]
I'll be bringing a very limited number of the brand new Wuvable Oaf: Ultimate Sacrifice / Muddy Buddy Special to Wonder Con 2010, April 2 - 4 at Moscone Center in San Francisco! Come visit me at the Prism Comics booth (#715), Friday from 5:00 - 6:00 pm and Saturday from 2:00 - 3:00 pm to score a copy before its official online and store debut this May!
I'm also very proud to be taking part in Prism's panel discussion on Friday, April 2, from 3:30 - 4:30 pm in room #220:
Queers, Comedy, and Camp: LGBT Humor Comics: From campy gag strips to witty graphic novels, LGBT humor has flourished in comics, tackling issues such as coming out, identity politics, relationships, and the vagaries of gay culture. Brian Andersen (So Super Duper), Ed Luce (Wuvable Oaf), Sean Seamus McWhinny (Diary of a Catering Whore), Joey Alison Sayers (Thingpart), and Rick Worley (A Waste of Time) are joined by moderator Charles "Zan" Christensen (PrismComics Founding President and current Web Chair) for a spirited discussion.
In other con news, making a very splashy debut at WC2010 is the Fat Free Comics dynamic duo of John Murasky and Frank, in the Small Press area at booth #SP52! Some of you might remember John's most excellent pin-up rendition of the Oaf from Wuvable Oaf #1... well, his own work is bursting with so much vibrant energy and color, it can barely be contained on the printed page! Definitely hit his table in search of his storybook-style comics, including B. Thrustrocket, Magical Fairy Tale Interior Decorator Bears (a personal favorite!) and Undead Doraliah! Visit for more info... including animations!
That's it for now... in just a few weeks, I'll be dropping you another line about our appearance at the STUMPTOWN COMICS FEST in Portland, April 24 - 25th! Til then:
Hope to see a bunch of you this weekend!

Ed Luce's first comic book project, Wuvable Oaf, is a "fairy" tale chronicling one big, scary lookin' dude's search for romance in a city that looks suspiciously like San Francisco. Ed and Oaf were recently nominated for a 2009 Ignatz Award in the "Promising New Talent" category.
Prism Comics promotes the works of the LGBT community in comics. It does not implicitly endorse any other material or products associated with those works. Any opinions expressed are those of the author(s).
