OAF DIY DOLL DEBUTS! HENRY & GLENN FOREVER & EVER #1! STUMPTOWN COMICS FEST THIS WEEKEND!
posted April 25th, 2012
[Print-ready Version]

Wuvable Oaf comes roaring back into Portland for Stumptown Comics Fest 2012, April 28-29th at the Portland Convention Center (http://www.stumptowncomics.com)! It's going to be our biggest year yet, with the debut of a brand new doll, a signing party, a panel appearance and much MORE!!! You can find Ed and Mark at booth #206, right next to our pals at Floating World Comics!

For starters, we're very proud to debut the first Wuvable Oaf DIY Doll at the Fest (for those not going, it's available at http://wuvableoaf.com too)! This kit comes with front and back patterns (printed on semi-stretch twill by the masterful Brian Stern at http://badskulls.com/store), an instruction booklet and the pink thread needed to seal up Oaf's sensitive parts! You provide the sewing needle, white thread, some stuffin' of your choice (natural hairs preferred) and elbow grease! It takes some very basic Home Ec 101 skills to put this sweet lil' doll together...or a good friend who possesses such abilities!

For those fans of the infamous Henry & Glenn Forever book, THE WAIT IS OVER: Before all the Stumptown action goes down, purchase a copy of Henry & Glenn Forever & Ever #1at the Floating World Comics Release Party, Friday April 27th from 6 to 8 pm! This #1 issue features stories by Tom Neely (The Blot, The Wolf), Benjamin Marra (Night Business, Gangsta Rap Posse) and Wuvable Oaf's own Ed Luce! And all three creators will be present for the signing! If you can't make it, Tom will be selling copies at his booth (#A-20) all weekend. Outside of Portland, no worries: head to the Cantankerous Titles site to pick up a copy!

Just as a heads up, the other dates on the H&G4ever & Ever mini tour, featuring Tom and Ed signing, are:

—Thursday, May 24th @ Atomic Comics in Baltimore, MD (http://www.atomicbooks.com/calendar.html)

—Friday, June 1st @ Secret Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA (http://thesecretheadquarters.com/category/events)

—Saturday, June 9th @ Isotope Comics Lounge in San Francisco, CA (http://isotopecomics.com/index.php/events)

HEAVY INK: The Collision of Music and Comics Panel

Finally, Ed will be participating in the Stumptown Comics Fest panel discussion "HEAVY INK: The Collision of Music and Comics" along with Tom and Ben on Saturday, April 28th in room # B116 from 2:00-2:45 pm. The official description:

2-2:45pm • Heavy Ink: The Collision Of Music And Comics: Comics and music have always gone hand in hand. This panel focuses on the work of three comic creators who have found success crossing over into the music world. Tom Neely is the co-creator of Henry and Glenn Forever and has made comics based on the music of The Melvins. Ed Luce is the creator of Wuvable Oaf, a series about gay and heavy metal culture. Benjamin Marra is the creator of Gangsta Rap Posse, and has also done album art for Madlib, Lil B, and Naked Heroes.
