Bio: Richard is the out retailer and owner of Zeus Comics in Dallas, Texas and co-creator of the Variants web television series.

Established in 2000, Zeus Comics has received more than a dozen local press awards and the 2006 Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award.

Since its inception, Zeus has hosted an award-winning, semi-annual mixer for LGBT comics fans. Past guests have included Prism Comics, Marc Andreyko, Lea Hernandez, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Gail Simone.

In 2004, Richard was featured in The Advocate as a real-life Michael Novotny from Queer as Folk.

In the Fall of 2009, Richard along with Ken Lowery launched The Variants a scripted comedy web television series. Based on life inside a comic shop The Variants follows four employees of Zeus and features two openly gay characters.

The show has featured guest appearances by Dave Crosland, Scott Kurtz, Ben Templesmith, James O'Barr, Chris Haley and Curt Franklin of LBFA and Mark Waid famously "coming out" as Richard's Brother.

The Variants wrapped its second season in February 2012 and pre-production has begun on a third seasons. All episodes are available free online.

The web television show “The Variants,” the award-winning queer comedy series about life in a comic book shop, premieres the final episode of season two, “The Sellouts,” on February 2.
