Marco Santucci


Bio: Marco Santucci, born in Arezzo on August 9th, 1974 lives and works in Camucia of Cortona in the provence of Tuscany. He started working in the world of professional comics at the age of 16 when he met Fabio Civitelli and Marco Bianchini who encouraged him to turn in his first amateur drawings to a professional editor who was very impressed with his drawing.

He started working professionally at the age of 20 for a super hero miniseries called Nembo, published by Star Comics and edited by Daniele Brolli. Within a short time, he had moved up the ranks at Star Comics, where he drew two issues of the comics series called Samuel Sand. At the same time, he kept his hand in the graphic advertising industry.

In 1998, he initiated his long collaboration with Marco Bianchini of Sergio Bonelli Publishing when he drew his first series for Mister No. He began with the story of "Little Odessa" which appeared in the Maxi Mister No of July 1998. Starting from page 20 and continuing on from there, the pencils are entirely his. He continues to draw for Sergio Bonelli Publisher today.

In 1998 Marco starts a long collaboration with Marco Bianchini with whom he has drawn his first big work in the Sergio Bonelli Publishing series, Mister No: “Little odessa” appearing in the from july 1998. From page 20 and forward the pencils are entirely his. Today Marco Santucci still works for Sergio Bonelli Publishing.

In the meantime, he has also joined the staff of the International Comics School of Florence where he gives lessons in comic drawing and 3D graphics.

The professional skills accumulated over the years in comics and the correlating graphics software have allowed him to become one of the founding members of Arcadia Studio, a company whose products range from comic productions to 2D animations. Termite Bianca, born a cartoon and then converted into a comic, is Arcadia studio's first project.

With Termite Bianca Marco got the chance to work with another great passion: screenplay. With Bianchini Marco has written the plot and the screenplay for Termite.

Next to that Marco has also created some cartoon versions of the Termite Bianca characters. Then, for the comics version, the same characters were transformed to realism by the great Patrizio Evangelisti.

At the end of 2005, Marco joined the staff of the most famous of the Bonelli series, Tex, which has always been inked by Bianchini himself. At the moment, Marco continues to work on his comics and has many other projects in the works that he hopes will have the same success
