Bio: Welcome to Mioki's profile. I'm Mioki. I was born in 1949. GWM. I live in New Jersey. I was raised on a farm along with corn and potatoes. When I was pretty young I discovered comic books which I thought were a high point of western culture. I still do. I didn't go to art school, but I did get a lot of on-the-job training in the many art-related jobs I've had. None of them had much to do with publishing, writing, or illustration but after several decades I had managed to amass a sizeable cache of sketches that I had done in the name of Art and Eros.
I was putting enough time and energy into my homemade erotica collection that I thought I'd try and see if I could find some use for it. I wrote to the first publisher of erotic gay comics that I could find, and they wrote back to me!
Since then I've had a bunch of gay-themed illustrations published and my first book, which has lots of cock and guys loving each other in it, has been translated into German. And I've loved just about every minute of it so far.
On a personal note, I live alone. No pets. Being single isn't my first choice, but it's way preferable to living with the wrong person. Just ask any of my "ex's".
I think comic books are one of the most challenging and rewarding pursuits an artist can get involved with. For me, LGBT "adult" comics have the potential to incorporate a range of experience and creativity that would be difficult to find in any other media at this point in time.
