Website: Self Made Man
Bio: Born in 1982 in Pittsburgh, PA, Max was not always the strapping young lad we now know… or was he?
After a childhood full of afternoons spent watching Chuck Jones cartoons and reading Calvin and Hobbes, Max first attended the University of South Florida, earning a BFA and then the San Francisco Art Institute, where he completed the MFA program with a concentration in painting.
Not particularly impressed with the contemporary art world, he decided to lowbrow it and make something he really belives in.
Self Made Man is Max's first comic project, started first as a pictoral therapy diary to sort through feelings and thoughts as he transitioned from female to male. Soon, he was aware of how his story could help and educate others.
He currently resides in the Bay Area with a very handsome feline roommate named Gunnar.
