Bio: The third issue of Shirtlifter debuted at 2008's San Francisco's Alternative Press Expo. This issue collects the first three chapters of my graphic novel "Unpacking", which was serialized on the (now defunct) Adultwebcomics.com. I've made a whole lot of changes to the original story—its not exactly unrecognizable, but it is substantially different, with 15 brand new pages and a lot of text changes on the rest.

The issue also features a 20 page excerpt from Justin Hall's forthcoming graphic novel The Liar, and a 8 page piece from Canadian soon-to-be superstar Fuzzbelly called "FBuds".

Shirtlifter #3 is listed in the October Adult Previews (order code OCT084123). It is available to bookstores through the distributor Bookazine —tell your bookseller to order ISBN 978-0-9791349-2-0. It's 2-color, perfect bound, 88 pgs, with a $10.95 cover price.

In other news, I have moved my webcomics series over to Modern Tales. I update three days a week. Currently I am serializing a colorised and reinked version of "Unmade BEds" from the now out-of-print Shirtlifter #1. In January I will begin serializing the second volume of "Unpacking," (Chapters 4 through 6).

Most of my work is available through the Prism online store, my website, and Amazon.com.

[Spectrum, Posted 10/1/09]
One of those big dreams the future Prism Comics volunteers had over french fries back in 2002 always seemed a little unrealistic: awarding an annual grant to queer comics creators. When you’re a tiny organization that struggles to raise the money for your regular activities, it’s hard to imagine a time when you’ll have money to give away. Now, Prism awards the Queer Press Grant every year. Can you help us?

QPG SPOTLIGHT: STEVE MACISAAC & JUSTIN HALL
[Spectrum, Posted 9/3/09]
In anticipation of next month's deadline for submissions for the Prism Comics Queer Press Grant, we're going to run some spotlights on previous recipients. Steve MacIsaac was awarded the QPG in 2005, the first year that it was offered, for Shirtlifter #1, and Justin Hall was the co-recipient, along with Tommy Roddy, in 2007 for Glamazonia the Uncanny Super Tranny. Hall has since joined the Prism Board as the Talent Relations Chair, and now helps manage the Queer Press Grant program.

Prism Comics is accepting submissions for the 2009 Queer Press Grant, with a deadline of October 1, 2009. The annual grant was established by Prism Comics to assist in the publication and promotion of LGBT comics. “The Queer Press Grant is the only American grant besides the Xeric Award dedicated to independent comic books,” says Justin Hall, Prism Comics Talent Relations Chair. “Since 2005 it has provided a significant annual sum of money, which varies according to Prism’s…

DAVID'S SUPER-LAZY COMIC-CON WRAP-UP PART II: JOHN BARROWMAN FLIRTS!
[News, Posted 8/6/09]
Okay, here's the pooper scoop! We were like any self-loathing, err self-respecting queens, hoping John Barrowman, the bisexual va-va-voom of Torchword would grace Prism Comics with his presence, but of course we thought to ourselves that we're just a small nonprofit at a humongous convention and that he's too big of a star to bother--then he came! Not in that way! Of course, I missed it. How could I miss it? John came by--while I was out--just walking the floor with his handler. …
