Bio: Born and raised in southern California, and trained at NYC's School of Visual Arts, Phil Jimenez has worked in comics since 1991. He first gained recognition for his work on Tempest. His later works including pencilling stints on the Invisibles , JLA/Titans , and Planetary/Authority. Phil finished a two year run on DC Comics' Wonder Woman , worked with Grant Morrison on New X-Men , and co-authored The DC Comics Encyclopedia . His creator-owned project, Otherworld, is currently being published through DC/Vertigo, and he is also the penciller on DC's Infinite Crisis.
Phil's been nominated for Eisner and GLAAD awards, listed as one of Entertainment Weekly 's "101 Gay Movers and Shakers," and featured in The Advocate and OUT . He also created the art for the first permanent AIDS awareness exhibit in the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry and had the good fortune to be Peter Parker's hands, working in a scene as a hand double for Toby Maguire, in Spider-Man .

Loads of new LGBT comics debuted at Comic-Con this year from creators such as Justin Hall, Howard Cruse, Brad Rader, Brian Andersen, Ed Luce, Dave Davenport, Steve MacIsaac, Jon Macy, Desmond Miller, Dylan "NDR" Edwards, Sean-Z, John Hahn, Walter Meyer, Michael Dimotta, Steven Bereznai, Michael Troy to name but a few (okay, can’t count).

David here, your intrepid Prism reporter, “blogging” (ooh, I’m so up on the lingo) or so from the floor of San Diego Comic-Con International 2010! Prism Comics, a nonprofit supporting LGBT comics, creators, and readers, has unveiled its slate of activities for San Diego Comic-Con International 2010, one of the world’s largest pop-culture gatherings, at the San Diego Convention Center from Wednesday, July 21st through Sunday, July 25th. Prism will host four jam-packed panels including Andy Mangels' legendary “Gays in Comics” panel, the 6th annual “Heroes vs. Villains” party, appearances by Howard Cruse (Stuck Rubber Baby) and the largest roster of LGBT Creators ever at its expanded booth, now filling three exhibit spaces (#2049/2146/2148). San Francisco, CA—At WonderCon 2010, Prism Comics announced the recipients of this year’s Queer Press Grant: It’s A Tie! The grant is being awarded to both Ed Luce for his submission, Wuvable Oaf and to Eric Orner for his submission, Storybox. Prism Comics, which supports LGBT comics, creators, issues and readers, established the Queer Press Grant to encourage the publication of LGBT themed comics.
