Websites: The Gay Comics List, A fansite about P. Craig Russell - with a section dedicated to Maurice Vellekoop

Bio: I'm a French comics reader who mainly writes about LGBT-themed comics, but reads all kinds of comics (including bandes dessinées in my native language and mangas in English & French).

With my Gay Comics List site, I intend to provide a large and varied view of those queer comics - that and it gives me a good excuse to be in contact with a lot of creators whose work I enjoy.

Outside of comics critique, I've been very happy to write three short scripts for the gay online comics anthology Young Bottoms In Love, with one included in the print collection published by editor Tim Fish. I've also written a short prose story for the Best Date Ever anthology from Alyson Books.

The first issue of Brother to Dragons, a gay erotic fantasy I'm writing, has been published by Class Comics in October 2007. It is drawn by Carlos García, a very talented newcomer. If you're of age, have a look at the official site.

As for more personal details, I'll say that I'm in my late 30's and live in the South West of France with my long-suffering partner (he's got his own obsessive hobby, so don't pity him too much).

The pictures are from my YBIL story and the BtD comic. Art by Roger Zanni and Carlos García.

OCTOBRIANA
[Color Commentary, Posted 1/26/12]
Octobriana is one of those comics which make you think “Why isn’t this more famous?”. Because it has everything: an unusual setting, a beautiful and hands-on heroine who’d give Wonder Woman a run for her money, a dangerous opponent—and it’s queer-inclusive. This should have been published as a Vertigo comic, just like Enigma or Chiaroscuro.
This 88-page, black and white comic, which you can buy here, is written by Steve Orlando, a writer I didn’t know, and…

RIDING THE DRAGONS
[Color Commentary, Posted 12/6/07]
I can think of worse things than to be sought after by dragons incarnated as hot, hung guys with insatiable sex drives. Being sought after by the IRS? Worse. Dateless on New Years Eve (again)? Much worse. Paris Hilton moving to my town? Much MUCH worse. Being drawn into a web of sexual and mystical intrigue with the aforementioned hot dragons watching my back? Oh, yeah. Bring. It. On. Such is the love I feel for François Peneaud’s release from Class Comics: Brother to

FRANçOIS PENEAUD'S RECOMMENDED TOP TEN COMICS FOR LGBT READERS
[Spectrum, Posted 11/16/05]
I’ve arranged the list alphabetically, because there’s no way I could choose between these comics, as they’re far too varied. Also, I’ve included one title which hasn’t been published in English, since I think it’s by an important author who should be available in your language. 1) Bull's Balls by Ralf KönigPublished by MännnerschwarmSkript Verlag Ralf König is a gay artist who is well-known in many European countries. In France, his books are published by…
