Website: Associated Student Bodies
Bio: Did you ever hear the phrase "don't quit your day job"? I think this is what they had in mind. Giving birth to a comic book is almost as much fun as passing a kidney stone. It's not the work, it's the worry. You might think that drawing the actual art is the hard part... and you'd be right. The "everything else" department is my lot in life.
That's okay, though. The effort pays off, if not in huge piles of unmarked 20's, then in satisfaction.
Associated Student Bodies is the kind of story I've always wanted to tell. It had to wait, though, until I found a partner-in-crime: Chris "Quivering Fingers" McKinley. His earliest art (which you will never see, nyah!) was an inspiration. Now all I had to do was convince him to abandon everything else in his life in favor of drawing a story about a lion, a wolf, and a big dose of soap-opera...
But getting back to the "about the author" biography thing...
The worst part of writing these biographies is the part where you try to sum up your life experiences into a few easily-digested paragraphs. The standardized answer would go something like "Lance is a product of a military family, a Chico State education, and ten years as a software engineer."
That sucks. I like this one better:
"If you look into Lance's room, you'll see a bunch of computers, a couple of guitars, stacks of Associated Student Bodies stuff, bottles of homebrewed beer and mead patiently aging, a few paper targets with their centers nicely shot out, and an overworked computer geek snoring on the bed. Don't wake him."
