Websites: Home of the Wuvable Oaf, Official Blog of the Wuvable Oaf

Bio: Ed Luce's first comic book project, Wuvable Oaf, is a "fairy" tale chronicling one big, scary lookin' dude's search for romance in a city that looks suspiciously like San Francisco.

Ed and Oaf had the very great honor of being named co-recipient of Prism Comics 2010 Queer Press Grant (thanks guys)! They have also been nominated for a 2009 Ignatz Award in the "Promising New Talent" category.

The very first exhibition of original Wuvable Oaf art and prints runs from January 14 - April 10, 2011 at BOVEN Gallery in the heart of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The show features paintings, original pages and limited edition prints from nearly three years worth of Wuvable Oaf comics, along with a large assortment of shirts and comics. Check out the BOVEN site for more info!

Wuvable Oaf has also made appearances in Prism Comics: Your Guide to Comics 2008 and 2009/2010 editions, 100% BEEF magazine, BEAR Magazine, Pride Magazine '09, The San Francisco Bay Guardian, The Book of Boy Trouble 2, UK's Gay Times magazine, Italy's PISSZINE, Instinct magazine, and White Crane Journal. He can also be fleetingly glimpsed on the chests of hunky dudes n' sassy lasses all over the world, in the form of his very own t-shirts.

In May 2009, the flagship "Wuvable Oaf Boutique" (featuring all manner of Oaf-related merchandise) opened in Goteblüd, a vintage zine store in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District. Check out goteblud.com for store hours!

While currently pouring his energy into the comics world, Ed also leaves a lengthy trail of art debris behind him, including published features in Bearflavoured artists' catalog and LA gay men's health magazine Corpus. His paintings have been exhibited in galleries, museums, store windows and bathrooms from San Diego to Buffalo to Paris.
